Hagerstown Field House offers dynamic Pickleball classes designed for every level of player—from brand-new beginners to those looking to elevate their game. Whether you’re just starting out with Pickleball 101, learning the basics like paddle grip, serving, and dinking, or you’re ready to advance your strategy and skills in Pickleball 102, our five-week courses blend expert instruction with fun, fast-paced gameplay. Come learn, play, and connect with a growing community of pickleball enthusiasts right here in Hagerstown!

CLASS INFORMATION

CLASS INFORMATION

  • Ages 18+
  • 5 Lessons per class
  • Class Times
    • Pickleball 101: Mondays at 6P or Thursdays at 10A
    • Pickleball 101: Mondays at 7:10P or Thursdays at 11A
  • Pickleball 101 (Beginner Class) – Learn the fundamentals of pickleball in this five-week beginner course. Players will be introduced to rules, paddle grip, serving, and essential shots like dinks, drops, and volleys. Each session includes skill-building drills and guided gameplay to prepare you for recreational play.
  • Pickleball 102 (Intermediate Class) – For advanced beginners to intermediate players. Focus on strategy, shot placement, communication, and advanced techniques like the third shot drop and net play. Sessions combine instruction and gameplay to strengthen skills and teamwork.

PICKLEBALL 101 SCHEDULE

Week 1: 

  • Introduction to pickleball: history, rules, and fun facts
  • Warm-up exercises
  • How to grip the paddle
  • Ball/paddle control drills
  • Types of serves

Week 2:

  • Review of Week 1
  • Introduction to dinking
  • Introduction to forehand shots
  • Guided game play

Week 3:

  • Weekly review
  • Introduction to backhand shots
  • Introduction to the third shot drop
  • Guided game play

Week 4: 

  • Weekly review
  • Introduction to net play
  • Lobbing fundamentals
  • Punch blocking techniques
  • Game play and skill integration

Week 5: Putting It All Together

PICKLEBALL 102 SCHEDULE

Week 1: 

  • Go over  history of the game, basic rules, warm up exercises

  • Ready Position and Commu

  • Intro to 3rd shot drop

  • Play a game using  dinking , drop shot

Week 2:

  • Intermediate theories on serving

  • Into to serving placement

  • Review of f

  • Game play

Week 3: 

  • Third shot drop game

  • Incorporating  week 1 and 2 into game play

  • Blocking vs attacking while at the net

  • Using  communication skill while at the net

Week 4:

  • Introduce overheads

  • Strategy on how to return overheads

  • How to play as a team

  • Game play using all of the above.

Week 5: 

  • Final Class
