LIL’ FLYERS YOUTH CHEERLEADING CLASS
Lil’ Flyers is the Hagerstown Field House’s youth cheerleading program designed to teach essential cheer skills in a fun and energetic environment. Participants will learn key cheer terminology, master foundational movements, and practice basic tumbling techniques. The curriculum includes skill-building drills for jumps, stunts, and motions, helping young athletes develop strength, coordination, and confidence as they work on their cheer routines!
PROGRAM INFORMATION
CLASS INFORMATION
- The program is designed for ages 4-12.
- Open to boys and girls.
- The class curriculum takes the participants through 8 weeks of skill building activities.
- Classes are 50 minutes long.
- Classes are once per week on Fridays.

CLASS LEVELS & DESCRIPTIONS
Pee Wee: (Boys & Girls; Ages 4-6)
This class is a fun introduction to cheerleading for children 4-6 years of age. The cheerleaders will learn the basic elements of cheerleading such as motions, jumps, the count and simple cheers. They will learn a few side-line cheers throughout the season. Each week players should expect to learn new tumbling and cheerleading skills while reviewing the previously learned skills. The player will also learn a dance/cheer routine to be performed at the end of the season.
Junior Varsity: (Boys & Girls; Ages 7-8)
This class is for ages 7 and 8 that want to learn the basic fundamentals of cheerleading. These classes include the basic elements of jumps, motions, count, and simple cheers. Each week, players will learn new tumbling and cheerleading skills while reviewing the previous ones the week before. At the end of the season, they will perform a cheer/dance routine to be performed.
Varsity: (Boys & Girls; Ages 9-12)
This class is for ages 9 to 12 that want to expand their learning in cheerleading. In a fun class environment, they will learn the fundamentals of tumbling, jumps, motions, the count, and cheers that would be performed in a game. While learning these new moves each week, they will also review the old moves that they learned in prior weeks. At the end of the season, they will perform a cheer/dance routine to showcase their new skills!
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration
- No spaces in any class are guaranteed without payment, as full payments are due at the time of registration. All registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- A non-refundable annual program enrollment fee of $10 is required for all participants registering for internal programs.
- Minimum of three children per class. If fewer than three are signed up after the third week, you will be required to choose another time or a refund if the class is canceled.
- Join at any time – classes are always prorated.
Trial Classes
- All first-time trial classes are free of charge.
- A Field House waiver must be completed before stepping onto the field.
- Customers may only do trials in classes that have space available.

Refund Policy
- Refunds will ONLY be given if a class has been canceled.
- Refunds are not issued due to missed classes. If a child stops coming, a credit to the HFH may be issued, pending approval.
WHAT TO BRING
- Comfortable athletic attire and shoes
- A water bottle labeled with your child’s name
PROGRAM POLICIES
Parents and Guardians
- Classes are not drop-off, a parent/guardian must be on-site during the class. For children under 4, parents may be permitted on the field or court with their child.
Behavior
- Dangerous, disruptive, or disrespectful behaviors will be dealt with case-by-case and could result in the loss of the privilege to participate. No refunds or credits will be issued if your child cannot participate due to negative behaviors.
Transfers
- Transfers within the same age group are permitted at any point in the session. All class transfers are dependent upon space availability.
Make-Up Classes
- Make-ups are done on a space-available basis. Make-ups do not carry over into the next session. No refunds will be given for missed classes.
